Inventory
and Sale System provides a facility to store information of daily
inventory and sale at all Wimpy's retail outlets. The information
includes daily sales, inventory, staff meals and entertainment,
stock inter-store transfers, customer database and staff attendance.
The
basic data for the system is the orders prepared at the outlet.
These serve as a basic document for sales analysis and stock position.
The system maintains a record of raw items, sales orders and prepares
consumption data. The system produces analytical reports for daily/shift-wise/hourly
sales, inventory, staff meals, wastage, sales growth, sale comparisons
(yearly & monthly), food and disposable costing and staff attendance.
The tools/platforms used for the Inventory and sales system are
as follows:

Visual Basic Front-end on Win 95/98/NT platforms. Microsoft Access
as database on NT server. Crystal Reports is used for report generation.
The software also has a stand-alone version. The system uses EDI
for transfer of data from retail outlets to head office.
