The World Food
Programme office in New Delhi operates a 100 node LAN. The organization
has around 70 desktop PCs of various international brands, 10 LaserJet
printers and around 6 servers for database, email, proxy
and web services. WFP uses RF link to NIC for Internet connectivity
and has a direct satellite link to its headquarter in Rome. The
email is based on Lotus Mail and the operating environment is Windows
NT.
PARAMARSH
designed and implemented the entire WFP IT setup that also included
a Virtual Private Network (VPN) for email replication with its headquarter
in Rome. The entire facility was managed by PARAMARSH with a site
engineer from 1995 to 2001. The services provided included maintenance
of network, system and email administration, equipment maintenance,
client support and technical consulting.
