UNICEF has a
network of about 200 nodes with servers running Windows NT operating
system. Previously UNICEF used Novell Netware and SCO Unix servers
to run its applications. The Email system is based on Lotus ccMail
with mail routing with UNICEF"s New York Headquarter. UNICEF has
more than 150 desktops and laptops of various international brands
and also a large number of LaserJet printers and scanners. The site
uses RF link to NIC for its Internet connectivity.
PARAMARSH
provided total IT support to UNICEF with four resident engineers
from 1993 to 1998. All major technology milestones were implemented
by PARAMARSH that included migration from DOS to Windows, Novell
Netware to Windows NT and setting up of Email gateways. The first
local area network and WAN connectivity was also implemented by
PARAMARSH. PARAMARSH also provided maintenance and user support
for UNICEF's Global Field Support System (GFSS), UNIX based application.
PARAMARSH also provided IT support for UNICEF's field offices all
over India.
