The
United Nations Aids Control Programme has IT facilities at its regional
and India country offices in New Delhi and additionally sponsors
IT services for a large number of governmental
such as
National Aids Control Organization (NACO) and non-governmental organizations
involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The LAN at UNAIDS India
country office and NACO is of 50 nodes each, while the UNAIDS regional
office has a small office network. The Internet connectivity at
each of the three locations is through the fiber broadband link
of Spectranet. UNAIDS in association with UNDP HIV Project co-hosts
server at VSNL for a regional AIDS Intranet called YOUANDAIDS that
consists of a number of AIDS related portals built around Microsoft
IIS, Lotus Domino, Apache Server and Microsoft SQL Server and a
messaging system based on Lotus Notes.
Since
2001, the entire IT Help Desk operations and the maintenance of
YOUANDAIDS Intranet are handled by PARAMARSH with an on-site team
of 5 engineers and a Help Desk operator. The services provided include
maintenance of network, system and email administration, equipment
maintenance, client support, technical consulting and a round the
clock remote monitoring and maintenance of the server co-hosted
at VSNL.
