World Health Organization (WHO), New Delhi


The World Health Organization's regional office for South East Asia operates a massive IT setup consisting of a 1000 node data/voice LAN using CISCOswitches and routers catering to around 400 users. The organization has around 400 desktop PCs of various international brands, 200 LaserJet printers, scanners and around 20 servers for database, email, proxy and web services. WHO uses multiple links for Internet that includes RF and Leased Line connections to VSNL. The email is based on Microsoft Exchange and the operating environment is Windows NT/2000. Applications use Micro-soft SQL Server as the database.

Since 1998, the entire IT Help Desk operations are handled by PARAMARSH with an on-site team of one coordinator and 4 engineers. The services provided include maintenance of data and voice communications network, equipment maintenance, client support and technical consulting.

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), New Delhi

  
The United Nations Development Programme office in New Delhi has an extensive IT infrastructure consisting of a 200 node LAN. The organization has around 150 desktop PCs of various international brands, 50 LaserJet printers, scanners and around 8 servers for database, email, proxy and web services. UNDP uses RF link to NIC for Internet connectivity. The email is based on Netscape Mail and the operating environment is Windows NT and Novell Netware.

Since 1998, the entire IT Help Desk operations are handled by PARAMARSH with an on-site team of 2 engineers and a Help Desk operator. The services provided include maintenance of network, system administration, equipment maintenance, client support and technical consulting.

United Nations Aids Control Programme (UNAIDS), New Delhi

  
The United Nations Aids Control Programme has IT facilities at its regional and India country offices in New Delhi and additionally sponsors IT services for a large number of governmental such as National Aids Control Organization (NACO) and non-governmental organizations involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The LAN at UNAIDS India country office and NACO is of 50 nodes each, while the UNAIDS regional office has a small office network. The Internet connectivity at each of the three locations is through the fiber broadband link of Spectranet. UNAIDS in association with UNDP HIV Project co-hosts server at VSNL for a regional AIDS Intranet called YOUANDAIDS that consists of a number of AIDS related portals built around Microsoft IIS, Lotus Domino, Apache Server and Microsoft SQL Server and a messaging system based on Lotus Notes.

Since 2001, the entire IT Help Desk operations and the maintenance of YOUANDAIDS Intranet are handled by PARAMARSH with an on-site team of 5 engineers and a Help Desk operator. The services provided include maintenance of network, system and email administration, equipment maintenance, client support, technical consulting and a round the clock remote monitoring and maintenance of the server co-hosted at VSNL.

UNESCO, Regional Office for South and Central Asia, New Delhi

  
The regional office of UNESCO has a 100 node network supporting an installed base of 4 servers, 30 desktop PCs and network printers. The site uses a mix of Windows NT, Novell Netware and Unixware operating systems for its various applications. UNESCO has a wide area connectivity with its headquarter in Paris using SITA link and is connected to Internet over a RF link with NIC. The Email used is IRMA Mail.

Since 1994, all IT related activities at UNESCO are planned, implemented and supported by PARAMARSH with one on-site engineer. The services provided include system and network administration, equipment maintenance, user support and coordination with headquarter.

IRCON International Ltd., New Delhi

  
IRCON corporate office in New Delhi has workgroup local area networks of 100 nodes spread over four floors. IRCON has five servers running Email, Web Services and various MIS applications. IRCON operates its web site as well as its corporate Intranet on NT based servers. The messaging system is based on Lotus Domino and the database used is SQL Server. IRCON is connected to Internet over a 64 kbps leased line link with VSNL. The corporate office is connected to project offices using various combinations of remote access that include Dial-up RAS, ISDN RAS, and VPN.

The IRCON network, messaging system and Intranet was designed and implemented by PARAMARSH and is being supported by a team of two resident engineers. The services provided include system, network and email administration, Database administration, maintenance of network, maintenance of IRCON Intranet and web site.

Computech International Ltd., New Delhi

  
Computech and its associate companies have a network of 100 nodes each in New Delhi and Kolkatta offices. The company also has small office networks in other cities. Computech is a Share Registrar company and has to perform voluminous data processing activities. This is achieved using a string of IBM Risc based servers running AIX operating system and Intel based servers running SCO Unix operating system. Computech is also connected to various depository networks using VSAT links.

All Computech networks have been integrated by PARAMARSH and since 1995, PARAMARSH is providing system and network administration services for all AIX and SCO Unix based servers. Other services include hardware maintenance of servers, maintenance of network and IT consulting.

The United Nations Population Fund has two offices in New Delhi, each having a 50 node network. The organization has around 50 desktop PCs of various international brands, LaserJet printers, scanners and 4 servers for database, email, proxy and web services. UNFPA uses RF link to NIC for Internet connectivity. The email is based on Netscape Mail and the operating environment is Windows NT and Novell Netware.

Since March 2002, the IT Support services are provided by PARAMARS in association with UNFPA's IT Focal Point with one on-site engineer. The services provided include maintenance of network, client support and technical consulting.

Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), New Delhi

  
Indian Statistical Institute has a 100 node campus network and an IT infrastructure of 6 servers, 100 desktop PCs, printers and scanners. The institute uses Alpha servers running UNIX operating system for its applications and web site. A Linux server is used for Email functions.

Since May 2002, PARAMARSH is providing IT Support services to ISI that include maintenance of the network, equipment and client support. PARAMARSH also assists the ISI system administrator in routine administration functions. The services are provided with one on-site engineer.

The Ministry of Family Welfare has an IT Infrastructure that consists of more than 200 Desktop PCs, printers and other equipment operating in networking as well as standalone mode.

Since 1999, PARAMARSH has been providing equipment maintenance services and client support for the entire IT setup at the Ministry with two on-site engineers.

World Food Programme, New Delhi

  
The World Food Programme office in New Delhi operates a 100 node LAN. The organization has around 70 desktop PCs of various international brands, 10 LaserJet printers and around 6 servers for database, email, proxy and web services. WFP uses RF link to NIC for Internet connectivity and has a direct satellite link to its headquarter in Rome. The email is based on Lotus Mail and the operating environment is Windows NT.

PARAMARSH designed and implemented the entire WFP IT setup that also included a Virtual Private Network (VPN) for email replication with its headquarter in Rome. The entire facility was managed by PARAMARSH with a site engineer from 1995 to 2001. The services provided included maintenance of network, system and email administration, equipment maintenance, client support and technical consulting.

UNICEF, India Country Office, New Delhi

  
UNICEF has a network of about 200 nodes with servers running Windows NT operating system. Previously UNICEF used Novell Netware and SCO Unix servers to run its applications. The Email system is based on Lotus ccMail with mail routing with UNICEF"s New York Headquarter. UNICEF has more than 150 desktops and laptops of various international brands and also a large number of LaserJet printers and scanners. The site uses RF link to NIC for its Internet connectivity.

PARAMARSH provided total IT support to UNICEF with four resident engineers from 1993 to 1998. All major technology milestones were implemented by PARAMARSH that included migration from DOS to Windows, Novell Netware to Windows NT and setting up of Email gateways. The first local area network and WAN connectivity was also implemented by PARAMARSH. PARAMARSH also provided maintenance and user support for UNICEF's Global Field Support System (GFSS), UNIX based application. PARAMARSH also provided IT support for UNICEF's field offices all over India.

Proxy Monitor Inc., New York, USA

  
Proxy Monitor has a network of about 80 nodes with Windows NT Servers. The network also supports about 100 remote users. The main business application runs on Microsoft SQL Server and e-mail on Exchange Server 5.5. Remote users use the Citrix servers to remotely execute applications on the office network. Applications are also published on the web using Citrix Nfuse. Windows NT IIS servers are used for hosting several web and FTP sites and RightFax fax servers take care of the mass distribution services. The connection to the Internet is via a full T1 link. Cisco PIX firewall provides the network security.

The entire network was built from scratch by ENS (PARAMARSH's USA associate) Engineers and maintained by them since 1998. Since 2001 ENS maintained two Engineers on site for 24x7 operation. The services provided include maintenance of equipment, LAN system, and WAN connectivity, network, email, NT server and Citrix server, security and firewall administration.

Risk Waters Group, New York, USA

  
Risk Waters Group, in New York has a 50 node network running Windows NT. There is an onsite Exchange 5.5 Server that hosts e-mail. The network is connected with the Risk Water headquarters network in London. The LAN users can access the London network using Citrix Servers. Internet connection is via a Full T1 link. Network is secured by providing Internet access through Netwovles Fox-Box Firewall. VPN is implemented on the Firewall to allow remote access and remote administration of the server. The nodes are a mix of Windows based clients and Apple Macintosh computers.

Since 2001 ENS (PARAMARSH's USA associate) is supporting the site with one on-site engineer. The services provided include system administration of the NT and Citrix servers, support of the Exchange infrastructure and Email administration, WAN connectivity with London and firewall security.
